FAQ
Who runs the Kiddisofft website and creates the software?

The Kiddisofft website is run and all the software created by Andrew Vaisey. I am a qualified Primary School teacher and Childcare Setting manager who has been working with children since 1993.

Why is the website called Kiddisofft?

I chose the name “Kiddisofft” as a fun, child-friendly way of saying “kids’ software.” It sums up the whole purpose of the site — simple tools created with children’s learning and safety in mind.

Why is the software free?

I have children of my own as well as grandchildren. In the last few years I have become increasingly concerned with the amount of 'free' software online that consistently bombards children with adverts or buttons leading to 'in-app purchases'. I want children to be able to use educational software that is *
safe*.

What do you mean by safe?

Our software contains no sign-ups or sign-ins, no accounts are required, there are no adverts, no data is collected, there is no tracking and certainly no in-app purchasing. It's just safe software for children to enjoy and learn from.

Our files are scanned by Avast Antivirus before being offered for download.

Do I need to install anything?

Our software can be downloaded to run on your computer without further need for an internet connection. Once downloaded, the software will run from wherever it is located without the need for installation — no changes are ever made to your device.

Alternatively, some of our software can also be run directly from this website in your web browser. Again, nothing is downloaded or uploaded. No changes are made to your device.

How is the software tested? Will it run on my device?

The software is tested first by my grandchildren and then by children at a private day care nursery.

The testing takes place on a variety of devices including, but not limited to, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and large interactive screens.

The software is written and tested on machines running Microsoft Windows. The software should run on Linux machines using Wine, but this is untested.

The tablets and Chromebooks used for testing are Google-Android based.

Can I use the software at home, in my school or childcare setting?

Yes! It’s completely free to use in homes, childcare settings, nurseries and schools! Please read the 'terms of use' page
here...

How often is new software released?

New tools are created whenever time allows. I value safety and quality over speed.

Will the software remain free?

Kiddisofft software has no paid versions or hidden upgrades planned. It actually costs me to run the site and operate the software used to create the tools on this website. Although not expected, a donation is welcome. See here...
